Adam and I met up with our wedding photographer, Kristine, a few weeks ago at Tempe Town Lake to take our engagement photos. Ever since we moved to Phoenix I’ve heard about this place from various people but never bothered to go there myself or even figure out its general whereabouts. My first impression of the Tempe Town Lake was, “wow there’s so much to do here!” There’s a grassy park, an arts center, a cool bridge, water fountains, and the lake (which is really just the Salt River damned off) with paddle boats.
At first I felt awkward posing for photos, there’s only so long a person can hold a natural smile, but after the first few shots I felt comfortable. And I have to say, the end results are so much more than I could have hoped for. Posing for formal, quality photos is becoming less common nowadays as cell phone cameras get better and better. I can’t even remember the last time I used my own camera. 99% of my photos are taken on my cell and they just sit there. I don’t even have them printed out to put into a physical photo album which is why I am so glad we had these engagement photos done.
Here is my personal favorite:
