Cool stuff from around the internet

The internet. A place where anything is possible. Sometimes that is a horrible thought but most of the time the internet is a great place filled with dank memes and useful information. For example, I learned how to change the windshield wipers and air cabin filter in my car. Thank you, Youtube! I put together a list of a few interesting things I recently found on the internet. The bolded parts of each bullet point are links. Click on them and enjoy!

  • A recipe for French Yogurt Cake from a fellow blogger, The Londoner.
  • One of my favorite new finds is a blog called Memory Issues about a man’s journey as a care partner for his wife while she lives with dementia. He is frank and thoughtful and sheds light on something I haven’t really experienced myself.
  • I check Apartment Therapy’s blog every day for rental friendly design ideas and to ogle over the amazing Before&After photos their readers submit.
  • My absolute favorite Instagram account is We Rate Dogs. Hilarious stuff!
  • A short video on “What is Happiness in Mongolia?”. This makes me miss Mongolia so much. It’s hard to believe it’s been close to 2 years since I returned from my Peace Corps service.

Next month I’ll be writing more about my time in Mongolia. In the meantime, what interesting or funny things have you stumbled across online?

You’re welcome! Oh, and if you remember from the Blogging Uni 101 you and I were wondering how to link blog content inside our posts. WordPress recently reintroduced that feature. I noticed yesterday I can use the link button and my blog content pop-ups. It’s once again very easy to do that.

I found a white supremacist website. I thought it was funny and interesting that bigots and idiots really think these things. Also they’re suprisingly well written but still ridiculous. I also found my new style icon (taylor lashae) and her website is pretty cool.

Anyway would like some thoughts if you time

Hi Halee…I really like the colors of your blog. So many blogs are bland, just black, white, and greys.

I’m an internet lover too. My favorite thing about it is that I can type in anything, and a bunch of results will pop up. I usually check out two or three sites that seem legit for my search query. So like, anything I could ever possibly want information about, can be found online.

I enjoy cute animal videos, documentaries, and crazy beauty videos on YouTube. I also like reading about history or anything that pertains to my favorite TV shows. I watched “Reign” on the CW until they killed off King Francis, and I read the real history on just about every character. Of course the TV series took a lot of liberties with history!

So, although I don’t have any favorite things online, I can say that I find the www a very useful and entertaining tool.

I decided to make my blog colorful because I don’t rely on photos to bring color to my posts. Often I forget to take my camera when I go out so I can only write from memory.

It’s funny you should mention “Reign”. I started watching that show but couldn’t get into it because it was too much like a soap opera! The costumes are gorgeous though. Thanks for commenting 🙂
