I’m a joiner. Team sports, team games, team anything and you’ll find me in the middle of the crowd. To me, hell is doing things by myself. I don’t like it. Playing singles tennis? Difficult and strenuous. Playing doubles? Now, that sounds like a blast! My team oriented tendencies complement my lazy streak. It’s nice to be able to shove the boring work off onto someone else and stay engaged on other, more creative tasks. However, I do find joy in teaming up with other people and not just for the simple fact that the work load will be spread around. I like to be a part of things because collaborating with others brings new perspectives and a sense of togetherness. Accomplishing a task by myself is a great thing but accomplishing something with others is more rewarding because those memories can be shared in the future. I guess I could start talking to myself whenever I remember accomplishing a solo task but…well….that might be weird to the people around me.
Where is this going?
I have signed up for a blogging challenge called Blogging A-to-Z. There are over one thousand other people from all over the world signed up as well. During the month of April each day (except Sundays) I’ll be blogging my way through the alphabet. Starting with April 1, I’ll start with A and work my way through, letter by letter, until I end on April 30 with Z. To keep me focused I have picked a theme for my A-to-Z posts and that theme is: TRAVEL! I’ve done a lot of it and I want to do so much more. About half of my posts will be about places I’ve traveled to, both domestic and international. The other half of my posts will be about places on my wanderlust bucket list. That list is quite long but I’ve picked my top destinations to write about!
The truth is most of my blog posts are usually written the same day inspiration strikes. This method produces some great stuff but it leaves my blogging sporadic, unplanned, and unscheduled. This blogging challenge will help me plan ahead and improve my writing by allowing me time to write a rough draft of a post and then come back and revise it. What a concept (one I wish I had done in school)! In fact, I wrote this post back in February and a majority of the 26 travel posts that you’ll be reading have already been written. The project is mostly complete on my end and I’m so excited for you to read about some of the great places I’ve traveled to and some places I really, really want to visit.
It’s not too late to join the Blogging A-to-Z challenge! You can click HERE to read more about the challenge and the sign-up link is HERE. If you are simply here to read my blog then I hope you’re looking forward to reading a lot more in April. It’s only one week away!
